Sacramental preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist takes two years. Usually, children will receive these sacraments in the second grade. The celebration of First Holy Communion most fittingly happens at the parish Sunday Mass so that the local community may welcome its newest communicants. CONFIRMATION
Normally, preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation requires three years of study. Usually the eighth grade student receives Confirmation. Preparation includes a retreat and participation in service projects, as well as attendance at class. The date of Confirmation is determined at the diocesan level.
